I am a newbie to this techie stuff but here goes Original problem where my cursor kept disappearing off the right hand side of the screen. I identified that this was because the system thought it had dual monitors. These were Generic non-pnp monitor and my Vx2235wm screen (my only one).
I used 'Screen Resolution' to resolve this problem and even went to the extreme of uninstalling the Generic non-pnp in device manager However it keeps on re-appearing, I have never actually seen it happen but I can leave the PC for less than 30 mins and when I come back its there again, I don't even believe that a system re-start is happen in between times and even if I do a system restart it doesn't necessarily come back at this point. Driver Audio Hdmi Windows 10. Video card is a Radeon X800 Pro.
I found the solution to the Generic non-PnP monitor status and the 'no signal' or 'no monitor' monitor status. Turn off the computer. Then, simply turn off the affected monitor, UNPLUG it too.
Wait a few minutes for the monitor unit to power down and drain all the capacitors on the circuit boards in the monitor. Re-plug and turn on monitor.
Reboot your computer. Now the computer should recognize the monitor correctly. (Of course, this process assumes you have the latest working drivers for you graphic card.) Post any success you have on this thread so others know to give this a try.
