Hi there - I have a couple of external Buffalo Drivestations which work perfectly in WinXP but I have just bought a new computer preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and cannot access them now. I have changed USB 2.0 cables around, tried different ports but still cannot see them as external drives on the computer. Device manager can see them as Sata Drives but when right click there I cannot get any information on the drives. I have tried Bufflo's own website and cannot see any updates for Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Silver_Fox869.
Hi Silver_Fox869, The drives are incompatible with Windows 7. Hp Deskjet 1050 Driver For Windows 10 there. The incompatibility occurred when Vista was introduced. The network security settings were made more secure, which resulted in the Buffalo devices to not be recognized compatible.
So, now they are not Windows 7 compatible. I recommend the manual method. Here is the Vista link for reference: = Since Windows 7 is different, you'll need to create the registry entry to fix it. You cannot run secpol.msc on Home Premium, so you will have to edit the registry manually. Asus P9x79 Drivers Windows 10.
